We will be participating in the "[Hanazakari] Yonomori Picnic" to be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Yonomori Park in Tomioka Town, Fukushima Prefecture!

This will be our second time participating in the "Yonomori Picnic," following the event held in September last year.
At our booth, we will exhibit videos and materials related to the "Sea of Time – Tohoku" project's past activities and the (tentative name) "Sea of Time – Tohoku" Museum, as well as an LED counter that is part of the artwork.
In addition to our exhibition booth, there will be food and drink stalls and participatory programs.
Please enjoy a relaxed spring picnic while experiencing the nature of Yonomori Park.

We look forward to seeing you there!

※Please note that there will be no time-setting workshop at this exhibition booth.

What is the "Sea of Time – Tohoku" project?

Based on the concepts of "it continues to change," "it connects with everything," and "it lasts forever," contemporary artist Tatsuo Miyajima, known for his works using digital counters, created this art project with the wish to commemorate the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake, pass on the memory of the disaster, and build the future of Tohoku together with the people living in Tohoku and those who care about the region.

The artwork, which is envisioned to have 3,000 digital counters counting from "9 to 1" installed in a large water basin (a shallow water installation), is created with the participation of 3,000 people, each setting the counting speed of the LED numbers to their desired time. Since 2016, workshops have been held across Japan, particularly in Tohoku, to connect with participants, and as of February 28, 2025, the total number of participants has reached 2,779. Currently, the construction site for the (tentative name) "Sea of Time – Tohoku" Museum, where the artwork will be permanently installed, has been decided in Tomioka Town, Fukushima Prefecture, and activities are ongoing with the aim of completing construction in 2027.
